"IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE,
BUT AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT." Hebrews 9:27

In Taian, China there was once an official so covetous, corrupt, and grasping for money, that everyone hated him.

After his death, a stone image was carved, representing him with his body covered with money, a silver ingot in each hand and a Chinese cash over each eye.   This image sat squatting outside the west gate of the city, and every coolie who passed by was encouraged to turn and to spit upon it.

This wicked official has long ago met his appointment with death, where he waits in torments, with an undying conscience for the next appointment with God, at the judgement day.   There he will surely be judged according to his works.   (Revelation 20:13)

Jesus tells of the rich man, who grasped for more and more, but the Lord said, "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee."    What a nation of fools we have!

My friend are you prepared for your appointment with death?   "The sting of death is SIN."   "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."   (1 Corinthians 15:57):   "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree." (1 Peter 2:24)

A good Christian has said, "I have more than once, been at the very gate of death, and I cannot describe what peace I enjoyed at the prospect of meeting God; simply trusting in the precious blood of Jesus Christ as my only plea, my only title."    This is the only way that anyone can be prepared for their appointment with death.   "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved."   "There is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. "To the believer in Christ, death is like a curtain, through which one steps out of a dwelling; cold, dark and miserable, into a mansion, bright shining and glorious, and into the arms of the One we love best of all.   Paul says, "Absent from the body, present with the Lord."   This is not death, but LIFE ETERNAL
